Students are estimated to require between US$13,000 and US$23,000 to cover their living expenses for each year of study.

Each university or learning institution sets its own admission requirements for international students but generally, applicants must have:

Undergraduate Programs:
High School diploma or equivalent, with a minimum GPA of 2.5to 3.0
TOEFLscore of iBT 61 – 100(PBT 500 – 603) or IELTS score of between 6.0 and 6.5

Postgraduate Programs:
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with a minimum GPA of 3.0
Many graduate programs require students to take a GRE, GMAT, LSAT, MCAT or DAT test
TOEFLscore of iBT 78 – 100 (PBT 546 – 603) or IELTS score of between 6.0 and 6.5

Note: English proficiency and academic requirements may vary depending upon the course and university/college.

  • Undergraduate students can explore their options, before deciding on a major or even two,at the end of their second year
  • Most colleges offer on-campus accommodation
  • Some programs come with Curricular Practical Training (CPT) status, allowing students to gain on-the-job-training
  • International students are also able to apply for Optional Practical Training (OPT) to workin the US for 12 months or longer after graduation
  • There is Silicon Valley and Hollywood in California while New York City has Wall Street, 45 Fortune 500 companies, the New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ (the two largest stock exchanges in the world)

While studying:

  • Part Time: Up to 20 hours per week on campus during the school term
  • Full Time: Up to 40 hours per week on campus during school breaks

After graduation:
International students will need to apply for a work visa in order to work in the United States, or apply for a new student visa to undertake further study in the country.
